GET INVOLVED - VOLUNTEER!Sno-DOG relies on volunteers to fulfill its mission of creating and maintaining quality dog parks in Snohomish County. Many hands (and heads) make light work! Volunteer opportunities are available now and include the following: Sno-DOG Board Member Positions:Sno-DOG board members are needed with the leadership and vision to steer Snohomish County’s dog parks into the future. This key group plans improvements to the parks, manages volunteers, and files necessary non-profit paperwork. Each member fills a one-year unpaid position that requires monthly meetings and the commitment of an average of 8 hours per month for Sno-DOG activities. Non-Board Volunteer positions:Sno-DOG volunteers help create and maintain quality dog parks in Snohomish County. Many hands (and heads) make light work! Sno-DOG’s many volunteer opportunities include the following: Park Steward/ Volunteer Coordinator – Park Stewards take an ownership role in one of Snohomish County’s dog parks. These volunteers adopt one of the parks to coordinate work parties, assist with park maintenance, communicate with park users and provide the board with input for improvements. Event Coordinator – Event Coordinators organize and staff the many events Sno-DOG hosts or participates in throughout the year. Fundraising Coordinator – Fundraising Coordinators plan and organize Sno-DOG’s important fundraising efforts. These include participating in events, gaining sponsorship from local pet stores and businesses, and working with the membership coordinator. Membership Coordinator –Membership Coordinators recruit new members, maintain a membership database, and handle renewals. Education Coordinator –Education Coordinators work to address park safety issues and educate park users by developing and distributing educational materials and organizing training opportunities such as dog-related classes and seminars. Publication Manager – The Publication Manager maintains Sno-DOG communications, which include the website, Facebook page and brochures. Volunteers to this position will also have the opportunity to create and manage the Sno-DOG newsletter. Work Party Volunteer – Work Party Volunteers provide the physical muscle to complete much needed improvements in the dog parks.
